SchoolSense

Classroom environmental sensors, built for every learner.

We design environmental sensors for Australian classrooms that send a weekly evidence report straight to the inbox of the person responsible for compliance and inclusion reporting.

What we believe

Every learner deserves a classroom designed for them.

Sound, light, air, and visual environment — the physical conditions of a classroom shape how every Australian learner experiences school. The impact compounds for students processing English as an additional language or dialect, those navigating hearing or auditory processing differences, and those whose nervous systems experience sensory input differently. Teachers and inclusion specialists already know this, and already adjust for it by hand, every week. What they don’t have is time, or an objective record of what the room was actually like.

We build unobtrusive sensors and the simple software around them — so classrooms measure themselves, evidence is waiting when teachers need it, and specialists can support students from data rather than guesswork. Calibrated against the standards Australian schools are measured against, so inclusion stops depending on who happens to notice.

In research

SchoolSense Light

Lux, flicker, glare. The strongest next sensing dimension — directly tied to visual sensory sensitivity.

Seeking partners

SchoolSense Air

CO₂, temperature, humidity. Currently seeking partnerships with established air-sensing makers — a mature category we’d rather collaborate on than rebuild.

We’re piloting SchoolSense Sound with QLD schools now.
